When the Stanford Home for Convalescent Children opened its doors in 1919 on the Stanford University Campus in Palo Alto, California, its policy was to accept any child for whom it could provide care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

From its beginning as a convalescent home, the Hospital has grown into a major pediatric center for the treatment of serious diseases and disabilities. It is also a teaching and research facility where important scientific advances have been made that have improved diagnostic techniques and care worldwide.

Our Auxiliary has been active in it's support of Packard Children's Hospital for over 60 years. All of our funds are directed to uncompensated care for children whose families cannot afford to pay for medical expenses.

We invite you to visit our shop but more than that, we invite you to join us. We promise you will meet many new friends who share an interest in the welfare of children. The commitment is small, just a few hours a month. In joining our Auxiliary, you will become a part of a tradition of service and dedication known throughout the community.
